01 — Why it matters

No commercial substitute exists.

Manganese removes oxygen and sulphur, then stays on as the alloy that gives steel its strength and toughness. Nothing else does both jobs at industrial scale.

02 — Where it goes
90%

of all manganese mined goes into steel.

The rest splits between ferro-alloys, battery cathodes and chemical use. Grade and packaging confirmed per enquiry.

DeoxidiserStrips oxygen and sulphur from the melt.
Alloying elementStays in the steel as strength and toughness.
Battery inputCathode chemistries that use less cobalt.
03 — Applications

What manganese makes.

From the steel in every building to the batteries in the next generation of vehicles.

Coils of finished steel
01 · Carbon & stainless steel

Stronger, tougher steel.

The deoxidiser and alloying element in virtually every tonne of steel produced worldwide.

Molten metal poured at a smelter
02 · Ferro-alloys

Ferro- & silico-manganese.

Smelted into the alloys steelmakers add by the tonne.

Lithium-ion battery cells
03 · Batteries

A growing role in cathodes.

Reinforcing steel bar
04 · Construction

Reinforcing the built world.
